Abu Dhabi Judicial Department Celebrates the UAE Children's Day Al Abri: "We contribute to realizing the vision of the UAE 2030 by providing children with legal knowledge and building a society based on a culture of respect for the law" Al-Baloushi: "Shaikh Zayed implemented one of the most intelligent security formulas by linking the security and stability of the World to the care of children and meeting their needs" Abu Dhabi, March 15, 2018 His Excellency chancellor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, thanked Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, Supreme Chairperson of the Family Development Foundation, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, for her attention and care towards children which was crowned by the declaration of the 15th of March as the UAE Children's Day, pointing out that the UAE's care about children is a real indicator of the wise leadership's direction towards building the future of the country on real basis with the human component as a central factor. He added that the Judicial Department, under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, President of the Judicial Department, pays an enormous attention to children as the most important wealth in society and the core of development plans in various political, social and economic aspects. This generous guidance comes through several initiatives and projects adopted within the framework of a strategic plan aimed at contributing to the realization of the vision of the UAE 2030 by providing children with legal knowledge and building a society based on a culture of respect for the law. HE the Chancellor Ali Mohammed Al Baloushi, Attorney General of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, attended also the ceremony organized by the Judicial Department this day at the old main building in Abu Dhabi on the occasion of the UAE Children's Day. Chancellor Al Baloushi toured the activities of the celebration and participated the children in cutting the ceremony cake and balloon launch under the dome of the Judicial Department. In a statement, HE the Attorney General of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi expressed his appreciation for the generous initiative of the Mother of the UAE, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union, Supreme President of the Family Development Foundation, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, to dedicate a day for the Emirati child and praised the fruitful efforts of Her Highness in childcare to such an extent that our children are enjoying the best services that compete with those provided to their peers in the World's most advanced countries in this field. He also thanked His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs, President of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, for the efforts that His Highness made for the establishment of a legal and judicial infrastructure to protect the children and the family. "The celebration by our country for the first time of the UAE Children's Day coincides with the declaration of 2018 Year of Zayed," he said, "and this reminds us that the founder of our nation, may Allah be merciful to him, is the one who edicted one the most ingenious and simplest formulas to devote security and stability not in the internal society but in the world as a whole. He indeed said: "There is no future for peace and prosperity as long as there a starving child in the world" This ingenious connection between childhood, peace and stability is a working method. Societies in general and families in particular, place the needs, security and happiness of their children at the top of their priorities. Therefore, the satisfaction of such needs in addition to the requirements of a secure future is likely to secure the satisfaction and stability of local communities and the world in its entirety. HE the Chancellor Ali Mohammed Al Baloushi pointed out that the wise leadership in the UAE has adopted all practices that are likely to ensure the rights of children in a safe and happy life. The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department celebrated the UAE Children's Day with 70 students from Aspen Heights British School, the Canadian International School and Diyafah International School, as part of its strategy to promote the child legal culture as one of the most important means to protect children through knowledge and development of psychological and emotional strength of the child to enable him facing any potential risks. The ceremony included five awareness stations that the participating children had to pass through. The first was the Responsibility station, which included a simulation of a courtroom where children played the role of judge and accused following the presentation of cases of theft and abuse by specialists from the Family and Children's Prosecution. At this station, the children learn how to deal with the cases exposed and how to give a ruling and hence, through the role play, they apprehend the idea of accountability of actions and behaviours made in the environment surrounding the child. At the next station, children learn to make decisions by focusing on raising awareness through the use cognitive games, which stimulates their thinking, trains them to make good decisions about the surrounding environment and to reject all negative impacts on behaviour. At My Identity station, all life practices were linked to principles and community values, with the orientations of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan, founder of the nation, by presenting a heritage model that reflects the simple lifestyle and values of the UAE on which our fathers grew up, and conveying them in a simple and attractive way to children. The event also included a workshop, which aimed to raising the students' ability to understand the motivation behind the behaviours and choices they make in their daily life, such as friends, friendship standards and smoking, in addition to presenting some of the challenges that the children face in their daily life and how to find the right solutions to avoid making mistakes. At the Technology station, electronic games were used to illustrate the impact of some negative characters in society, such as luring children and committing inappropriate behaviours.
